Genesee County Amateur Radio Public Service Corps

A registered D.B.A of Michigan Specialized Communications Group, Inc

 

  1. The Genesee County Amateur Radio Public Service Corps Committee shall consist of at least Five (5) positions. These GC-ARPSC committee members shall be vested with the responsibility of managing the people within their assigned programs.
  2. The GC-ARPSC committee shall have a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Recording Secetary elected by majority vote of the serving GC-ARPSC committee members. This election shall take place annually at the January GC-ARPSC meeting.
  3. The Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and Recording Secretary may be removed by a majority vote of the serving GC-ARPSC committee members.
  4. The Chairperson of the GC-ARPSC committee shall be the liaison to the MSCG, Inc Board of Directors.
  5. The Chairperson of the GC-ARPSC committee shall be charged with overseeing the meetings of the GC-ARPSC committee and upholding the integrity of the GC-ARPSC and MSCG, Inc
  6. Each GC-ARPSC committee member shall be responsible for coordinating their program’s training.
  7. The GC-ARPSC committee shall consist of at least: Genesee County Home Land Security Emergency Manager, Genesee County ARES Emergency Coordinator, Genesee County RACES Officer, Genesee County SKYWARN Director, and the Net Manager.
  8. No one person shall hold more than two positions on the GC-ARPSC committee.
  9. Each person serving on the GC-ARPS committee shall have only one vote.
  10. The ARES EC is appointed by the ARRL.
  11. The RACES Officer is appointed by the Genesee County DHS Emergency Manager.
  12. The SKYWARN Director is appointed by the Genesee County DHS Emergency Manager.
  13. The Net Manager is appointed by the MSCG Board.
  14. You must be at least 18 yrs of age to hold a GC-ARPSC committee position.
  15. GC-ARPSC committee members maybe subject to a background check if not required by appointing entity.
  16. All contracts and MOUs made with the GC-ARPSC shall be signed by an MSCG board member.
  17. The GC-ARPSC committee positions and related duties are:

Genesee County DHS Emergency Manager

    • This person is the Genesee County appointed Home Land Security Emergency Manager

ARES Emergency Coordinator

    • This person is the ARRL appointed ARES Emergency Coordinator for Genesee County
    • Responsible for overseeing all ARES activities and training in Genesee County
    • ARRL/ARES liaison to GC-ARPSC
    • Planning and Liaison to the community of all public service related events, such as the Crim Festival of Races and Back to the Bricks
    • Liaison to the Michigan ARPSC District 3
    • Reports to the GC-ARPSC Committee

RACES Radio Officer

    • This person is the Genesee County EM appointed RACES Radio Officer
    • Responsible for overseeing RACES related activities and training in Genesee County
    • RACES liaison to GC-ARPSC
    • Reports to the Chairperson of GC-ARPSC

Skywarn Officer

    • Management of the National Weather Service facilitated SKYWARN program for Genesee County
    • Coordination of related training , operations, and operator certification records
    • Is the lead MICON operator for Genesee County
    • GC-ARPSC Liaison to National Weather Service White Lake
    • Reports to the GC-ARPSC Committee

Net Manager

    • Manage the Net Control Stations on the MSCG repeaters
    • Coordinate local NET training
    • Maintain NET Records
    • GC-ARPSC Liaison to the National Traffic System
    • Reports to the GC-ARPSC Committee
