August Training Event – Antennas 101, Back to the Basics
Dale Collins KC8ZXF will be hosting this month’s training, a refresher on Antennas. This will be on Tuesday August 26th at 7:00PM at the Genesee County Administration Building basement Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This will be a great refresher to look at better options for your shack and mobile rig. This will also be a great opportunity to share and brainstorm personal experiences and/or challenges. Come with ideas and questions!

September Tornado Siren Test – Saturday, September 6th
Saturday August 2nd marked a record breaking achievement! For the first time in Genesee county history all tornado sirens had been visually checked at least once. We are on track to completing our goal of all sirens tested twice. This is an amazing accomplishment for the Genesee County Amateur Radio Public Service Corp. (GCARPSC) and will certainly open new doors and opportunities! We open the net at 12:00PM and the test begins at 1:00. If you are willing to travel within your community, NET control could assign you a local siren. You can also recruit family and friends to participate. Non-HAM’s may call or text message a siren report to 810-545-7260. Contact Tim Crane – KD8VUI if you have further questions or visit www.gc-arpsc.org/siren-testing
